Collaboration tools are quickly becoming the central hub of communication for many of today’s businesses. Whereas email is often unreliable and slow, collaboration tools give companies the opportunity to communicate rapidly in real-time. However, not every business requires the same kind of collaborative experience.

In a world where most organisations are managing content and communications across a wide variety of different tools, new collaboration brand, Oroson believes that it’s time to align the workplace. Oroson allows teams to take control over their work and projects, using highly organised solutions for collaboration and communication.
I spoke to Daniel McGlade, the Founder, and CEO of Oroson, who created the company just over four years ago now. He told me that although Oroson started off as a collaborative tool for students, it’s quickly evolved into a powerful new offering for businesses in the creative project space.
Tell Us About the Oroson Platform
While Oroson has been in the market for a couple of years now, it’s just beginning to enter a new period of growth. According to McGlade, Oroson is defining its own niche in the market, focused around the sharing of information and the importance of visual collaboration. Oroson allows today’s team members to bring together a lot of different kinds of content into a single space. For instance, you can load up lists, videos, and even content from other solutions like Google Drive.
“Oroson brings all of the rich information you need into a single environment that’s highly visual and easy to navigate. There’s no need to search through loads of text and documents. You can easily identify where the information you need is”
According to Daniel, Oroson is all about bringing content together for teams and giving them it in a format that they can share with both internal and external teams. When you sign up for Oroson, you pay for your internal team using a SaaS subscription, and all of your guests are free and unlimited. The guests can view and contribute to the board. “Consultants can quickly and easily get involved with an Oroson board, and companies keep all their communication in the same place. We’ve found that this is really reducing the reliance that people have on email, because it really improves the external collaboration piece.”
What Makes Oroson Stand Out?
With so many other collaboration products on the market, I was keen to find out what makes Oroson different. Using boards of content immediately sets Oroson apart from the channel-focused tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams. According to Daniel, Oroson believes that some projects just aren’t improved by streams of content. “If you send a document in Slack, then need to retrieve it a few weeks later, you need to go searching through a ton of messaging. There’s no organisation for the content.”
McGlade told me that while Microsoft Teams and Slack are all about synchronous communication and chatting, this kind of experience won’t be right for everyone. With Oroson and the board format, businesses can add content and organise it in a way that suits them. Companies can start the conversation with the content then layer communications on top. On the other hand, Teams and Slack take the opposite approach. With Oroson, the content is just as important as the communication.
