TelcoSwitch appoints Joe Murphy

TelcoSwitch has appointed Joe Murphy to lead a new Dealer Channel for the business. Joining Russell Lux and the “MADMEN of Telephony,” Murphy brings nearly 2 decades of channel experience from his previous role at Adept Telecom.

Murphy believes that the current options for Dealers in the Channel are limited and plans to bring back a tried and tested model in order to recruit and support Dealers in selling next generation solutions.

He explained, “A number of years ago there was a departure from the traditional dealer model with vendors either developing their own billing platform or buying one, so a lot of dealers migrated to virtual reseller models. This is great for those wanting to develop businesses capable of provisioning and supporting a customer base but it has meant that there are limited options for freelance telecoms specialists who want to focus on selling and building commissions.

Not everyone wants the hassle that comes with running a business, training staff and looking after the day-to-day management of the customer, so we are here to bring back an option that was always popular but to support it with modern mechanisms.

I was attracted to the role at TelcoSwitch because they are invested heavily in product development but they are massively passionate about developing a modern Channel business - and this is reflected in the dealer model. Our agent tools are all online with deal calculators and proposal tools offered from day one. Dealers will sell under our sister brand which has a dedicated website and product information.”

Russell Lux, CEO, TelcoSwitch believes Murphy’s experience is just what they need to complete the team. “We are very pleased Joe has agreed to join the team. TelcoSwitch is a Channel business and we are about supporting our partners by building compelling and interesting solutions for our Channel. We are not experts in selling directly, so we are actively recruiting partners who are and now our partners can choose the very best method of engagement for them: Dealer or Wholesale. Paul (Gibbs) knows the Wholesale channel and in Joe we have a perfect wingman for Dealer.”
