Lenovo Microsoft smart displays collaboration

Leading technology brand, Lenovo, just joined the growing community of Microsoft partners delivering high-end solutions for Microsoft Teams communication. On the 3rd of January 2020, Lenovo announced the arrival of the “ThinkSmart” View conferencing device, part of the ThinkSmart Hub offered by the brand.

Lenovo officially introduced the new technology, designed to provide quick and convenient meeting room solutions for Microsoft Teams users, at CES. The ThinkSmart View is a standalone productivity device, complete with integrated audio and video, as well as an eight-inch HD touchscreen.

Upgrading the Meeting Room

An affordable new solution from the ThinkSmart Hub, the View is a smart display, similar to the Amazon Echo Show, or Google Assistant smart display. Always on, and constantly connected, the device is powered by the functionality of the Microsoft Teams collaboration app. You can use the tablet-sized screen at any second to start or join a Teams video call or meeting.

With headphone connectivity via Bluetooth, WiFi internet, and a unique, compelling design, the Lenovo ThinkSmart View offers businesses a fantastic way to deliver a dedicated audio/video Microsoft Teams device for a reasonable price. The View enterprise product starts for $349, or you can add an extra $100 to that tag to include a pair of Bluetooth headphones. While it’s not the cheapest smart display around, it’s a lot more accessible than the $1,800 ThinkSmart Hub 500.

Perfect for Huddle Rooms

Launching soon, the View from Lenovo seems to be an excellent investment for companies that want to upgrade smaller conference rooms and huddle spaces. If you’ve got a limited budget, and you want a convenient meeting room solution that you can take with you wherever you go, the View could be just the thing for you. This device works well at individual desks, and for remote workers.

Intended for people that rely on their Microsoft Teams experience as a daily solution for collaboration and communication, this device represents an exciting move in the smart display environment. With the View, you’ll be able to quickly and easily access Teams Meetings whenever you need to. What’s more, for those concerned about privacy and security, there’s a physical shutter built-in.

Lenovo could also consider creating similar products for other team collaboration tools. However, for now, the company is focusing its attention on the fastest-growing enterprise app in existence. That makes sense to us.
