Responding to COVID-19 with Lifesize Tech
Although the demand for video meetings has increased consistently in the last few years, the arrival of COVID-19 has accelerated the path to cloud. In response to the pandemic, companies have adopted video as a way to ensure remote teams can communicate and collaborate. However, today’s companies want to ensure that the video meetings they have are secured.
In a published piece during April 2020, the Senior Research Director of Gartner, Mike Fasciani, highlighted the value of video meetings being secure. this concept has growing increasingly critical in the wake of less than secure solutions on the market. Issues like zoombombing have left customers increasingly worried about how their data moves on the cloud.
Security will always be a critical part of assessing any enterprise-grade solution for meeting rooms. The recent exposure of security and privacy vulnerabilities has only increased this concern. Today’s enterprise video service providers must ensure that video and video solutions aren’t just easy-to-use and feature rich – they need to be sure too. Video technology requires a systematic approach to security and protection for data collected from customers.
Securing the Modern Meeting Room
Following the release of the end-to-end experience for security from Lifesize (E2EE) hosts within a Lifesize solution will be able to encrypt all meetings.
This support is available for free plans and paid plans. Additionally, the encryption will cover video and audio. A key will be available to securely share among all meeting participants. Additionally, media will be encrypted from each participant, and it will remain encrypted when in transit.
As the demand for video for collaboration and communication accelerates, business leaders can’t afford to take chances. Meetings and conversations need proper encryption to ensure that business leaders can stay in line with the latest compliance requirements.
