Microsoft and KPMG Announce Copilot and OpenAI-Centric Partnership

Microsoft and KPMG expand Copilot and Azure OpenAI Service to modernise work, secure AI and drive digital transformation.

Microsoft and KPMG Copilot OpenAI partnership

Microsoft and KPMG have announced a historic partnership with Copilot and OpenAI productivity solutions at its centre.

The collaboration will influence professional services across several business-critical areas across KPMG's remit, including workforce modernization, safe and secure development, and AI solutions for clients, industries and society.

As one of the early access partners for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Azure OpenAI Service, KPMG professionals will leverage the technologies with select business groups. This will consolidate the increased capabilities of these AI tools with the workers' professional experience, insights and sector expertise to improve client engagements and enhance digital transformation.

Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO, Microsoft, said:

We have a real opportunity to apply this next generation of AI to help transform every industry, including professional services. Our expanded partnership with KPMG will bring together AI innovation across the Microsoft Cloud with KPMG’s tax, audit and advisory expertise to empower its employees and unlock insights for its customers."

The partnership includes a KPMG multibillion-dollar commitment to Microsoft cloud and AI services over the next five years. The ambition is to unlock incremental growth opportunities for KPMG over $12 billion.

The Microsoft cloud and Azure OpenAI Service capabilities will enable KPMG's global workforce of 265,000 to be more creative, produce quicker analysis and be able to dedicate more productive time to strategic advice. This will allow KPMG employees to help clients, including over 2,500 KPMG and Microsoft joint clients, keep pace with the quickly evolving AI landscape.

"This expansion of our global alliance builds on the combined power of two world-class organizations that share a common set of core values, working together to responsibly use cutting-edge cloud and AI technologies," said Bill Thomas, Global Chairman and CEO, KPMG International. "KPMG is embracing the future, and we believe that AI is key to unlocking sustainable growth in a way that will build a better future for our people, our clients and society."
