As outlined in a recent blog post, notifications can now be positioned in one of four location in Microsoft Teams: bottom right, top right, bottom left, or top left. This enhancement aims to reduce distractions and improve productivity by enabling users to tailor notification placement to their workflow preferences.
Will it make a real difference? Imagine you are mid-presentation, deep in a slide deck and riffing on an important trend which could move the needle for your business. Then, suddenly you are getting called by accounts to submit your latest expense report, or your work bestie wants to discuss Friday afterwork drinks… we have all been there!
For those that don’t have a strong need for notification placement, it provides a great opportunity to play – Notification Penalties, which corner is your comms coming from today?!
To adjust notification positions:
- Navigate to Settings > Notifications and Activity> Display within the Teams application.
- Select the option for notification location that best suits your needs and preferences: Bottom right, Top right, Bottom left, or Top left.
