Midwich has acquired the unified comms division of Hamburg-based eLink Distribution. The deal was done via Midwich’s German-based AV distributor Kern & Stelly Medientechnik. Value-added distributor eLink provides audio-visual communication and network solutions to trade customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and counts Poly, Lifesize and DTEN among its vendor partners. It is also a distributor and master agent for Zoom licences in the region and the acquisition will allow existing customers of Kern & Stelly to access this Zoom portfolio, including licences and hardware. The acquisition of eLink’s UC division bolsters Midwich’s offering in the DACH region and emphasises its investment in the “strategically important” and fast-growing UC market. eLink's 30 staff will remain with the group and its founders and directors, Roman Klinke and Daniel Ebling, will head the newly minted UC competence centre at Kern & Stelly. "With the acquisition of the UC division of eLink Distribution AG, it demonstrates our continued investment into a rapidly growing market and expands our AV expertise within unified communications,” said Lutz Kern, Regional Director of DACH at Midwich. “Thanks to its portfolio of leading manufacturers, we can develop a comprehensive and exciting range of services in the UC sector for both new and existing customers. The eLink range complements our existing portfolio, and we can offer holistic solutions for conference, meeting and training rooms. “The eLink employees are experts in their field and ensure individual advice and personal support for video conferencing solutions. I am very pleased to welcome the new colleagues to the Kern & Stelly team." Klinke added: "Kern & Stelly is a leading distributor in the DACH AV market. The integration of our UC team into Kern & Stelly helps us to realise the full market potential for our UC manufacturer partners. “The Midwich Group also shares our values in supporting our employees and customers – this new partnership will strengthen the relationship with our long-standing partners.”
