Industry-leading communications provider Nextiva recently announced that Phil Steitz has taken on the role of CTO. Steitz will be the first Chief Technology Officer that Nextiva has had, responsible for engineering, product development, architecture, and the complete tech strategy.
As a veteran within the tech space, Steitz comes to Nextiva with no less than 30 years of experience leading global teams. Phil's expertise features a ten-year stint with American Express, where he served as the brand's first CTO, and drive transformational changes in the company's partnership. Steitz has also served as CIO of the Barclays' US credit card business.
Exceptional Leadership Experience
Steitz has served as CIO of the Barclays Credit card business, and CTO for Pegasus Solutions during his career too. Additionally, Phil is also a chairman of the Apache Software Foundation, the largest Open Source software foundation which incubates and develops more than 350 initiatives and projects, including the Apache HTTP server. Steitz will be reporting to the Nextiva CEO and co-founder, Tomas Gorny.
According to Gorny, the team is thrilled to be welcoming Phil as the most recent member of the leadership team. Sating that his track record in leadership roles combined with his history with the Apache Software Foundation makes Steitz a fantastic addition to the team.
