A major warehouse expansion has been announced as communications supply specialist Nimans develops an even wider product range and continues to invest in the future.
Work has begun to increase floor space by over a third, with the multi-million-pound scheme on the outskirts of Manchester due to be completed by October.
Chairman Julian Niman says the project represents a high profile symbol of how Nimans is gearing up for an even brighter future – ahead of the imminent launch of a new trade catalogue which showcases an expanded 8,000 strong product range.
Julian explained: “Over the last 36 years we’ve come a long way. I started the business repairing CB radios from limited space at my father’s jewellery business and this latest expansion gives us room to grow even bigger and better,”
“The business continues to diversify and we sell all manner of communication and technology solutions from a simple cable clip through to a complete unified communications system, connectivity and end points – backed by the highest levels of service, support and logistics excellence."
“In the early days I was working in just a few square foot of work space. But now the warehouse is increasing from 36,000 sq ft to almost 50,000. This gives us much more order processing space particularly as pallet volumes and order tonnage are up 50% year-on-year. The expansion sends out a very strong message that the business is growing and we are continuing to invest in the future.”
He emphasised: “For over 35 years Nimans has been a leading player at the forefront of the communications and tech supply industry, evolving from our traditional telephony roots into a complete solutions specialist. I first made a commitment to sign a long term lease on our initial Broadway building on the outskirts of Manchester, then I made an even bigger commitment to build our current multi-million-pound headquarters at Agecroft. It’s all about staying one step ahead of the game.
