As the workplace of the future becomes the workplace of today, mobility is crucial to how we communicate and collaborate. In recognition of this, Plantronics has launched its new Calisto 3200 and 5200 portable, personal speakerphones for PC and mobile devices. Rather than being hunched over a laptop at a service station, or trying to host a call via your mobile speakerphone, Plantronics has designed a solution to bring their conferencing experience to the world outside the office.
Mobile working
For workers on-the-go, the new Calisto devices provide:
- 360-degree audio and microphones
- Simple touch-sensitive controls and visual indicators
- Voice prompts and mute alerts that can provide immediate feedback of call status
- Simple plug-and-play design
With the ability to host and join conference calls on the go, Plantronics speakerphones provide a much-needed resolution to collaborating on the go. In this modern era of communications, why should a conference call be of lesser quality because you are away from your desk? Plantronics references research conducted by Oxford Economics in 2018:
"30 percent of employees say their company has the adequate conference room space for calls and more than two-thirds of people around the world are working outside the office at least once a week".
Device breakdown
The Calisto 3200 connects via USB to PC, Mac and tablet devices and is compatible with UC applications and softphones from Avaya, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft and more. The Calisto 5200 has the additional capability to connect to a smartphone via a 3.5mm aux cable.
When on the move, preserving power is essential for all devices. To save battery life, the Calisto 5200 will auto power down when disconnected from the smartphone, avoiding the disaster of initiating a call and disconnecting through lack of power halfway through. The Calisto 5200 boasts 30 hours of listening per charge so you can participate in consecutive meetings on the go.
