Cheltenham-based PSU Technology Group has been delivering a major communications project for Poundworld, which is due to save the retailer more than a third of a million pounds over the course of the contract.
The value retail giant was keen to look at reducing their telecoms costs and streamlining their services, so called on PSU to identify areas where savings could be achieved and services could be improved.
The telecoms experts carried out an audit of Poundworld’s existing landline estate, covering the company’s 359 retail stores across the UK.
The audit enabled Poundworld to review their existing services and determine which were still needed and which were no longer required for the company’s future plans.
This then highlighted some key areas where significant savings could be made.
Poundworld’s previous supplier was not providing a suitable pricing structure for their usage and growth plans, so PSU worked with Poundworld to put together a new tariff to suit their needs, streamline their services and reduce their costs.
PSU’s research also identified that the complexity of the existing billing process was creating unnecessary administration. Following discussion with Poundworld, a simpler alternative was identified, which suited the retail giant better. Online billing now enables Poundworld’s headquarters to view a single bill covering all sites, significantly improving the efficiency of the billing process.
