Fuze, the leading cloud-based communications solution provider for the modern global enterprise, has been selected by SAS International, a British manufacturer of interior building products, to modernize its business communications approach. The initiative is part of a wider digital transformation journey that will see SAS International’s entire IT and communications infrastructure move to the cloud.
Leading the industry in innovation and cutting edge design, SAS International is best known for its award-winning metal ceiling systems, which can be seen in landmark projects worldwide. Fuze’s business communications platform, which brings together voice, HD conferencing and collaboration features, is being rolled out to over 600 employees across SAS International’s headquarters in Reading, UK, three factories in Wales, Scotland and England, and four further offices in Dubai, Ireland, Hong Kong and Australia.
Through its pure-cloud delivery model, Fuze will support SAS International’s mobile workforce by providing the same communication features and experience regardless of where they are and the devices they are using. The number of mobile workers has grown by 25 percent in the last two years and is expected to increase further with the introduction of the new platform.
The Fuze deployment is being driven by group IT manager James Greene as part of a three-year plan to overhaul IT and communications at SAS International. Fuze was chosen following an 18-month procurement process in which the company considered solutions from Mitel, Skype for Business and 8x8. Greene recognized Fuze’s ability to improve efficiency, enhance collaboration and scale globally with a minimum CapEX investment.
Fuze replaces several aging and unreliable Nortel and Siemens PBX systems, which experienced frequent outages exacerbated by an old and unreliable network. Fuze’s multi-datacentre architecture design, which ensures 99.999% uptime and business continuity, has eradicated the issues around connectivity and downtime – essential in an industry that is phone-reliant – and astronomical repair costs associated with the previous on-premises systems.
