Sinch has bolstered its presence in the US market through the $1.14bn acquisition of Inteliquent.
The deal is the Swedish firm’s fifth in the last year and also gives it a stronger foothold in the Latin America and India markets.
Oscar Werner, Sinch CEO, said: “Becoming a leader in the US voice market is key to establish Sinch as the leading global cloud communications platform.
“Inteliquent serves the largest and most demanding voice customers in America with superior quality backed by a fully owned network across the entire US.
“Our joint strengths in voice and messaging provide a unique position to grow our business and power a superior customer experience for our customers”
Inteliquent is a voice communications specialist and counts every major US network carrier among its customer base. Its offering spreads across cloud communications, collaboration, unified communications and contact centre.
Earlier this year the firm said that it had reached one hundred million phone numbers in service in the North American market.
Sinch said the acquisition broadens its CPaaS offering and gives it “the leadership position” in the US voice space.
