Essex-based cloud and managed services provider Response Data Communications (RDC) has been bought by Solar Communications.
The acquisition of the SME specialist further consolidates Solar’s transition from telephony to universal communications services, adding cutting edge cloud software expertise and some key strategic vendor partnerships to the business.
RDC’s partnership with Silver Peak enhances the Solar portfolio with the addition of the world’s leading software defined (SD)-WAN platform, a market forecast to be worth $20 billion by 2020. Partnerships with vendors such as Pure Storage, Rubrik, Nimble Storage, Balabit and Palo Alto also boost Solar’s ambition to become the cloud and managed services provider of choice for SMEs, adding Contact Centre Solutions, Enterprise WiFi, Scale-out Firewalls and Next-Generation Firewalls to its offering
The addition of RDC has also further strengthened Solar’s relationship with US-based cloud and hybrid UC comms giant ShoreTel. Already ShoreTel’s largest overseas partner, the merger with RDC, itself a ShoreTel Circle of Excellence Gold Partner, has seen Solar named as a Platinum Partner to the California-based multinational.
