Teams now has 145 million daily active users, according to Microsoft, CEO Satya Nadella.
Speaking as the vendor revealed its quarterly earnings, Nadella said that the number of users has almost doubled over the last year, while the number of companies with over 1,000 Teams users has increased three-fold.
This is the first time Microsoft has given a daily active user count since it revealed the figure to be 115 million last October. The number stood at just 32 million before the pandemic.
On an earnings call, Nadella said that Teams is growing even in countries where workforces are back in offices.
“In markets where employees have returned to the workplace, including Australia, China, New Zealand, South Korea, and Taiwan, we have seen usage continue to grow,” he said.
“We are accelerating our innovation, adding over 300 features over the past year, including more than 100 new capabilities so far in 2021"
