July has finally come to a close, and if you’re lucky, like the weather, the news in the UC and Collaboration space is still hot.

Over the last week, we’ve reported on some incredible stories, from AWS delivering a new Amazon Interactive video experience to Microsoft announcing new Teams features.

Twilio Supports Over 100,000 US Doctors

There are few industries more important than Healthcare – particularly in the current landscape. That’s why communication market leaders are doing everything they can to keep our doctors and nurses connected. Twilio, one of the market leaders in CPaaS and programmable solutions recently announced its work in the healthcare space.

Through the Doximity Dialer Video application, Twilio empowers more than 100,000 doctors throughout the United States. The app allows these physicians to connect with patients through their smartphones, allowing for more convenient telemedicine experiences. Microsoft Introduces New Solutions to Inspire

Microsoft recently launched its Inspire event in a virtual format, showcasing some of the new and improved innovations that the company will deliver in the months ahead. During this year’s conference, Microsoft focused heavily on its commitment to delivering incredible team experiences that automate workflow processes for modern companies.

Microsoft Teams meeting rooms will now come with advanced management capabilities that make it easier to monitor and protect devices remotely. The Microsoft team is also exploring new solutions to assist first line workers, with time clocks available both on the web and desktop app for Teams. Making Collaboration Easier in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft also introduced a selection of updates to the Teams experience intended to build on the current collaborative platform. For instance, there’s a new file-sharing experience coming to Microsoft Teams that the company originally announced during Microsoft Ignite in 2019. The solution will include a new option to access OneDrive content in the Microsoft Teams tabs.

Aside from the improved file sharing experience, Microsoft also introduced a new setting for inline translation. The translation service in Microsoft Teams will now default to being on for all customers unless administrators specifically turn the service off. Amazon Introduces Interactive Video

The leading provider of cloud solutions, Amazon Web Services, recently revealed the arrival of the Amazon Interactive video service. This “IVS” fully-managed solution will support live video streams for mobile and web applications. According to Amazon, the system runs on the same technology responsible for powering streaming service, Twitch.

With Amazon IVS, companies will be able to access live content without having to worry about latency. Customers have the freedom to configure and stream content through the web or mobile applications, with a system that scales according to their needs. BlueJeans Updates Virtual Event Experiences

Leading collaboration provider, BlueJeans by Verizon, recently announced a stream of powerful improvements to its Events experience. This service supports companies around the world in hosting immersive conferences and meetings. Now, the BlueJeans Events solution comes with access to extra features, like post-event follow-up tools, and strategies for improving attendee recruitment.

The Events platform can now stream to up to 50,000 attendees at the same time. There’s also new support for dynamic promotions in the middle of an event, and integrated ticketing. For companies hoping to engage their audience on a deeper level, BlueJeans also offers interactive video.
