Kakapo Systems, leading developer of complementary UC and CC solutions for BroadSoft providers around the world, has been offering its Unity Mobile app to its costumers for quite a long time now.
What is Unity Mobile?
Itβs a mobile app allowing users of Unity Desktop β Kakapoβs popular BroadSoft-compatible UC office solution β to take advantage of all the BroadSoft features from their mobile device.
This means that call recording, transferring and holding, as well as conference calls, busy lamp field capability, direct access to corporate directory contacts, and even visual voice mail β are all available to users while theyβre away from their desk.
βIf you simply divert your office phone to your mobile phone, the main problem is β you lose the critical features and information you get in your office extension,β explains Steve Tutt, SVP Sales at Kakapo.
βUnity Mobile uses the underlying GSM number to tether the mobile device back to the office BroadSoft extension. Itβs a way of taking your whole BroadSoft feature set onto your mobile device β an entirely integrated experienceβ
Now, Kakapo is releasing its latest addition to this useful package: a CRM Connector, or more accurately: a Salesforce Connector (for the time being, at least).
Your Entire Salesforce Directory in Your Pocket
Needless to say, Unity Mobile is a perfect solution for any BroadSoft user making business calls through their mobile device while being away from their office phone, which in this time of global pandemic is everyone at some point. But Kakapo realises that business communications from home is not only about properly connecting with colleagues β itβs about effective, informative communication with customers as well.
The new Salesforce integration of the Unity Mobile app provides the user with two main important capabilities: seeing existing Salesforce lead information regarding incoming and outgoing calls, and easily and effortlessly documenting new information regarding said leads straight from their mobile into the Salesforce system.
βThe new Unity Mobile edition offers all the same functionalities from before β but now, if a user takes a call in, they can also see if the person calling is already a lead or a contact in Salesforce,β shares Tutt.
βThis allows mobile access to some really important business information, allowing one to remain synchronised with other team members regarding mutual Salesforce opportunities even when theyβre remote from their desk.β

In fact, even if one neglects to manually document any mobile conversations with customers β the new connector will still log all interactions with Salesforce contacts automatically.
βEverything is logged into Salesforce. So every call I make on my mobile, whether itβs inbound or outbound, is automatically journaled into the corporate Salesforce account.β
The Unity Mobile Salesforce Editionβs USP is that itβs marrying the BroadSoft phone extension and the Salesforce platform together β so that they are no longer two separate islands of information.
As Tutt puts it:Β βIt allows one to have their entire Salesforce directory in their pocket.β
