Nasstar has completed its acquisition of KCOM’s IT services business.

The acquisition creates the largest independent IT managed service provider in the UK, Nasstar claimed.

Wayne Churchill, CEO of Nasstar, said: “We have been delighted with the feedback from customers since we announced the acquisition, and this has helped move the deal to completion quickly.

“We now look forward to the future and realising the value and opportunities that the combination of KCOM’s people, capabilities and customers represent combined with Nasstar”

The acquisition by Nasstar, which was previously called GCI, was first announced in June.

KCOM was acquired by Macquarie in 2019. The investment firm still owns KCOM’s phone and internet network in Yorkshire.

The firm’s business arm – which has capabilities around connectivity, hosting, managed services, projects and voice – turned over £166.6m in the year ending 31 March 2020.
