OneCom has made its fourth acquisition of the year in the form of Russell Telecom.

The acquired business has existed for more than 35 years and specialises in phone systems and connectivity.

Martin Flick, CEO at Onecom, said: “As we continue to grow, supported by LDC, we are delighted to welcome the Russell Telecom team and customers to Onecom.

“Our businesses are a perfect match and this transaction, our fourth in 2021, supports our strategy of acquiring strong businesses that share our culture, values and ethos and our commitment to providing exceptional products and solutions to UK businesses of all sizes”

“Russell has demonstrable strength in the education sector which is an excellent complement to our already existing specialisms that bring proximity to specific customer need in distinct markets.”

Onecom has now made five acquisitions since taking on private equity investment from LDC in 2019.

The firm reported sales of £89.3m for the year ending 31 December 2020, but said when it acquired Olive in February that the combined business had sales of £140m. It has since made three more acquisitions this year: IP Office, 9 Group and Russell.

Onecom said that the latest acquired business brings with it more than 1,500 customers.
