RingCentral have announced a partnership with Ericsson to improve provision of voice services over cellular networks. We were lucky enough to be joined by Ritu Mukherjee who is RingCentral’s VP Product Management so she could pre-brief us on the news in advance of its release today. Ritu explains to Patrick, in basic terms, what the latest announcement relates to and how it can dramatically improve provision of voice services for their service provider partners. With this new offering, service providers can offer businesses a ubiquitous cloud communications service with native dialling and guaranteed quality-of-service.

RingCentral will leverage Ericsson VoLTE for Unified Communication (UC) solution to integrate its carrier solutions with IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networks. This enables service providers to deliver differentiated offerings to the enterprise market faster than Over the Top (OTT) or non-VoLTE based Unified Communications services. Compared to traditional carrier-hosted solutions, the RingCentral and Ericsson cloud solution enables service providers to manage their VoLTE networks without having to modify them to accommodate new UC services, reducing implementation time and accelerating product refresh cycles. In addition, enterprises benefit from the RingCentral platform and core capabilities, including self-service management, analytics, open APIs and integrations, and global coverage.
