Leading video communications provider, Zoom, recently announced an exciting development. The company has entered a multi-year partnership with the world-renowned Formula 1 racing competition. The collaboration will consist of various touchpoints across the upcoming 2021 Formula One World Championship season and will also extend into ongoing competitions.

As part of the new collaboration, Zoom will deliver communication services to Formula 1, providing business and hospitality opportunities through fantastic live sport experiences that will be available during and beyond the pandemic. This isn’t the first time that Zoom and Formula 1 have joined forces, either. The two companies also collaborated in 2020 on the unique Virtual Paddock Club solution, which continues this season as part of the updated partnership.

The new season started last weekend, with Lewis Hamilton winning in Bahrain.

An Exciting New Season in Zoom’s Partnership

Across 21 races, guests this season will be able to take part in the “Virtual Paddock Club” with a Zoom connection. There, they can experience various unique offerings for hospitality, including live insights and updates from legends in F1. In compliance with the latest pandemic regulations, guests will also be able to join the club on-site at select races or use Rooms to connect Paddock Club Business lounges to other environments.

F1 global partners, guests, and teams should be able to access a fantastic and seamless experience, whether they’re digitally, or physically at the races.

Zoom will also be taking on the task of becoming the official UCaaS platform of Formula 1. In this role, Zoom aims to assist the company in achieving its goals for ongoing sustainability. Part of this initiative involves contributing to F1’s remote operations, which should reduce carbon emissions by putting virtual collaboration first.

According to the Director of Commercial Partnerships for Formula 1, Ben Pincus, the company is delighted to be expanding its partnership with Zoom, following the work they did with the Virtual Paddock Club last year. The Zoom team will deliver UC services for the full Formula 1 company, helping the brand to continue its digital transformation.

An Increasingly Successful Collaboration

Commenting on the continued partnership with Formula 1, CMO of Zoom, Janine Pelosi expressed excitement, saying that Zoom is thrilled to be continuing with this collaboration. According to Pelosi, the 2020 season showed that the Virtual Paddock Club was a success at delivering exceptional VIP sports experiences, despite the limitations often set by the pandemic.

The new season further provides an opportunity for the hybrid model, including both on-site, and virtual activations, wherever the situation allows. This ensures the best of both worlds for enterprises and the VIPs involved in the community.
