Irish comms provider WellTel has acquired the Irish and UK wing of Dublin-based Capstone Intelligent Solutions.

Both companies count Avaya, Verint and Liquid Voice among their vendor partners. The acquisition is expected to add €8.5m to WellTel’s revenues and allow it to deliver its integrated communications, telephony, cloud and managed services on a larger scale.

“We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Capstone as part of Welltel’s strategic plan for growth,” stated Ross Murray, Chief Executive Officer at Welltel (pictured above left).

“The merging of our two companies will enhance our cloud contact centre and unified communications capabilities, and enable us to provide these services on a wider scale for customers, while maintaining our customer service ethos.

“Capstone brings a loyal customer base and a highly-skilled, specialist workforce built over a ten-year period to Welltel and we look forward to continued expansion as a combined entity.”

Capstone, which also counts Gamma, 8X8 and Cisco among its vendor partners, supports over a quarter of a million people in 327 sites across 38 countries and reported a turnover of €8.5m in its most recent fiscal year. It boasts Three Ireland, KBC Banks, The AA and An Post (Irish national postal service) among its customer base.

“Capstone is thrilled to join Welltel at an exciting time in the growth of the company,” stated Fergus Kelly, MD at Capstone Intelligent Solutions (pictured above middle).

“Our respective services and skillsets complement each other, and we have the opportunity to leverage each other’s expertise to accelerate our upward trajectory. The synergy between our businesses makes this integration a natural fit.”

Capstone will be integrated into the WellTel brand with immediate effect and its 30 employees in Dublin and London will join WellTel’s existing teams in Ireland and the UK to bring its overall headcount to 150.

John Quinn, Executive Chairman at Welltel (pictured above right), added: “This is the latest step in our ongoing buy-and-build strategy. We are continuing to seek out great companies aligned with our business so that we can accelerate the growth of our Irish and European communications and IT services business. We look forward to making more acquisitions as the year progresses.”
