In an exclusive UC Today interview, VoIPstudio Marketing Director, Rob Seymour, told me about some enhancements the company's made to its VoIP phone offering. Starting today, VoIPstudio now extends business-grade communications with emergency service access in more than 30 countries for SoHo, SME, and enterprise users, I'm told.
"We're committed to ensuring regulatory compliance in all markets we operate in. This is why we've strengthened our regulatory compliance to offer emergency calling facilities from our platform for public safety access"
Starting today, emergency calling is available in the more than 30 countries the company operates in, including the UK, Germany, Spain, and the U.S. He told me, these new capabilities will work to ensure VoIPstudio customers can 'confidently continue to use our services, with full access to public safety organizations, should they need them.'
If a business user needs to use their communications system for emergency services, it should be available. VoIPstudio said this includes giving this reassurance to remote and home workers, too. During the COVID-19 period, these services are mission-critical, and more unified communications, as well as collaboration companies, have added these features.

Seymour opened up about something in the industry he's wanted to address for some time, he told me. "Most VoIP providers do not 'adequately address public safety services," adding, "This is true for popular ‘Over the Top’ or OTT applications, which is why the company wanted to enhance our services to accommodate emergency calls." I was told, leadership felt it to be a necessity.
Just as the majority of companies in the unified communications and collaboration space have, Seymour told me VoIPstudio's also seen a spike in usage since the beginning of the novel Coronavirus, as millions more remote workers take to tools that enable remote workplace communications.
