Ten years after first teaming up on a Lync-certified phone, Microsoft and Yealink are celebrating a decade-long partnership that has helped shape the way businesses communicate in the hybrid era.
The collaboration has produced Teams-certified devices, intelligent speakers, AI-driven cameras, and most recently, solutions powered by Microsoft’s Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP).
"We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together with Microsoft over the past decade," said Dawson, VP of Product at Yealink.
"From our first phone device to the cutting-edge AI-driven solutions we are rolling out today, our partnership has consistently focused on improving how businesses collaborate."
“With AI at the heart of the next generation of hybrid meeting solutions, we are excited about helping our customers stay ahead in an increasingly connected and intelligent world."
Albert Kooiman, Senior Director at Microsoft, also commented on the partnership:
“Ten years ago, Yealink and Microsoft came together with a shared vision to democratize unified communications. From SIP phones to Teams devices and AI-powered cameras, we’ve built a portfolio that reflects the evolving needs of modern work. Today, we’re leading the way in how people connect – and the next decade will involve generative AI and new forms of collaboration.”
Expansion and milestones
In 2023, the partnership expanded to include the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP), which standardizes non-GMS-based Android devices for enterprise use. MDEP aims to reduce fragmentation in the Android ecosystem while providing security updates, OS upgrades, and long-term support for organizations deploying Teams-certified devices.
Juha Kuosmanen, Head of MDEP said: “Yealink has been a partner for MDEP, delivering devices across their portfolio. Together, we are reducing Android fragmentation, improving enterprise security, and providing tools for future-ready collaboration.”
