Zoom Adds Hardware Certification Categories

Zoom adds condenser microphones, scheduling displays and digital signage to hardware certification, helping buyers confirm Zoom compatibility. Published on UC T

Zoom hardware certification categories

Zoom is expanding its hardware certification program to include new categories of hardware. Condenser microphones, scheduling displays, and digital signage appliances have all been added.

Until now, the Zoom Hardware Certification Program only had three categories of hardware: personal workspace, phone, and conference rooms.

The new hardware categories affect manufacturers who may want to certify their products are compatible with Zoom. Businesses and ordinary consumers get the assurance that Zoom will work with endpoints such as the Shure MV7 and the Yealink Room Panel.

Condenser Microphones

Utilizing Zoom at large speaking events is a big reason condenser microphones have been added to the list of certifiable hardware.

Certified condenser microphones:

  • Shure MV7

Scheduling Displays

Certified Zoom Rooms Scheduling Displays can be synced with calendar software to make scheduling meetings and calls easier. Naturally, these tend to be used more by businesses in which clashing schedules are a common occurrence.

Certified scheduling displays:

  • Poly TC8
  • Neat Pad
  • Logitech Tap Scheduler
  • Yealink Room Panel
  • Apple iPad
  • Crestron TSS-1070 Series

Digital Signage Appliances

Digital Signage Appliances are content distribution platforms that playback content to one or multiple screens. They enable managers to broadcast information with their employees, for example.

Certified signage appliances:

  • Yealink RoomCast
  • Apple Mac Mini
  • Azulle Access4 Mini PC Stick

Certification Process Simplified

The certification process has been made easier for manufacturers by unifying some integration tests across personal and conference room speakerphones, all-in-one video conferencing solutions headsets, pro audio, Zoom phone appliance, and Zoom Rooms controllers.

Certified products are reassessed after two years to check their compatibility with the latest version of Zoom. Until then, manufacturers will be able to display the certified Zoom badge and get their product listed on Zoom’s certified hardware list and partner directory.
