Zoom has announced that the enhanced version of its AI-powered productivity and assistant, AI Companion 2.0, is now generally available.

Unveiled at Zoomtopia 2024 earlier this month, AI Companion 2.0 is an upgraded version of the AI personal assistant, aimed at helping users manage their day and boost productivity. This enhanced tool will be accessible across Zoom Workplace via a convenient side panel, enabling users to stay updated on crucial conversations, synthesise information for quicker and more informed decision-making, and take efficient actions.

Jeff Smith, Head of Product, Workplace AI, Meetings, and Spaces at Zoom, said:

We’re thrilled with AI Companion’s ability to help boost productivity throughout the workday. With our new capabilities, AI Companion has the power to help people make the most of their meetings, kickstart documents, get important information at a glance, and transform their workday."

The company has also introduced a custom add-on for AI Companion. This add-on is designed to offer a more tailored and personalised experience, specifically crafted to address the organisation's unique needs.

Zoom AI Companion 2.0 will continue to be free of additional cost for paying Zoom Workplace subscribers.

"The substantial added value that we’re delivering today is just the beginning," added Smith. "Zoom is hyper-focused on customer experience, and in the coming weeks, we’ll support broader queries across Zoom Workplace, improve response times, and enable AI Companion to take more actions for the user."
