A return to the office is finally on the horizon for many companies, though primarily on a hybrid scale. This means companies need to ensure the right tools are in place for employees to remain connected and productive in this new environment.
The latest Zoom Rooms update is set to simplify the hybrid collaboration journey, with access to everything from the touch-free conference room, to enhanced in-room abilities. The update also introduces the new Smart Gallery feature in beta from Zoom.
Leet’s take a look at the latest enhancements.
A New Range of Meeting Experiences
The first addition to the Zoom Rooms environment is the Smart Gallery, now available in public beta. The solution uses AI to take single-camera views of multiple people in a Zoom Room, sending up to three separate streams of video to better showcase the in-room participants to people joining the conversation remotely. The solution will be supported on Poly and Neat solutions initially, followed by Logitech, and DTEN D7 options in the coming months.
Native Voice Commands also arrives in public beta with this new Zoom Rooms update. The capability has a locally processed expanded command set, allowing users to unlock voice commands like “leave meeting,” “start meeting,” or “check-in.” The system further empowers organisations to provide effective and safe hands-free meeting experiences.
Additionally, meeting participants joining from Zoom for Home or Zoom Rooms devices can now respond to chats in-meeting using the room controller or touchscreen. This allows users joining from a Zoom Room to enjoy equal participation to those on mobile or desktop devices.
