The video-first workforce isn’t just an option anymore for most of us.
In an age where countless companies have suddenly switched to a work from home environment, video is the best way for everyone to stay connected and engaged.
As one of the first companies to introduce the world to how amazing video-first functionality could be, Zoom is leading the charge to this new reality. In the past few months, the company has doubled down on creating unique, compelling, and secure video conferencing experiences.
At the beginning of August 2020, Zoom announced new solutions to support the office worker that may not feel comfortable in a video meeting. A slew of updates from the Zoom team aims to make any employee feel better on video.
Upgrade Your Appearance #Zoom Style
As Zoom announced in its blog, teams often connect better with video – but they don’t always feel comfortable with the idea of their colleagues seeing them sitting inside their home office. Virtual backgrounds to replace your messy kitchen solve one problem. But what do you do if you’re just not comfortable showing your face on video?
Well, Zoom can’t necessarily cure your self-esteem issues, but it can give you new ways to have some fun and reduce the tension. Zoom filters now give you the power to ease the stress of video experience with a host of fantastic new stylistic changes.
You can use colour filters to turn your video black and white (everyone looks good in monochrome) or tint your world in your favourite shade. You can add a unicorn horn to your head, wear a flowery crown, or throw on a pirate’s eye patch.
Changing Up Your Look for Video
While quirky filters might not seem like the most professional update for Zoom users, the ability to add a flower to your hair or a sepia tone to your video really can boost confidence. On top of that, Zoom is adding new lighting and touch-up options too.
For instance, if you click into your Video Settings, you can now adjust the lighting in your video, so you don’t look as shadowy. Alternatively, you can add something called “skin smoothing” to your video so that you can get rid of any bags under your eyes after a bad night’s sleep. There’s the option to adjust for a low light room, and so much more – so you can feel more confident in seconds.
