Zoom's AI Companion solution has received FedRAMP authorisation, complementing Zoom for Government's list of authorised solutions.
Zoom has announced that its AI Companion has received authorisation from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Joint Authorization Board (JAB) as a JAB Moderate system. Zoom outlines that this new approval complements the list of approved products under Zoom for Government, which it says illustrates the company's dedication to serving the US government sector.

Zoom outlines that US federal agencies, state and local municipalities, and approved businesses and organisations that support US government missions with paid Zoom accounts can now access a FedRAMP-authorised, secure AI offering within the familiar Zoom experience.
FedRAMP offers a standardised approach to security authorisations for Cloud Service Offerings, aiming to foster a public-private partnership to drive innovation and enhance the security of information technologies. Meanwhile, JAB consists of CIOs and Authorising Officials from the Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and General Services Administration (GSA).
Zoom for Government was initially FedRAMP authorised in March 2019 and received collective JAB approval in July 2023. In June 2024, Zoom Contact Center achieved its FedRAMP JAB certification as part of the Zoom for Government platform.
