As part of the latest companion features, Zoom has made improvements to meeting summaries and built generative AI into Zoom Clips.
Other release highlights include Zoom Whiteboard updates, plus Slack and Teams integrations with Workspace Reservation.
Earlier this month, the US-based collaboration platform also announced the availability of its new collaborative docs solution, Zoom Docs.
It will enable enhanced collaboration capabilities across Zoom Workplace by accessing information from Zoom meetings and converting it into the most relevant and beneficial format.
AI Companion Updates
The latest updates to Zoom’s smart assistant ‘AI Companion’ include generative AI virtual backgrounds, which allows users to quickly create backgrounds for meetings using simple text prompts.
With optical character recognition (OCR), AI Companion is now able to turn images of text sharing during meetings into machine-readable versions to enable meeting summaries. In-meeting chat messages are also being used to add context to meeting summaries.
To make things easier, Zoom Clips titles and descriptions can be automatically generated from the clips’ transcript.
Meetings summaries are shareable with co-hosts, where previously it was only the host that received the AI summaries.
Zoom’s ROI calculator has been released to demonstrate productivity and cost savings when AI Companion for Zoom Meetings is used throughout a business.
The Zoom AI Companion Onboarding Center is a resource for admins that provides organisations with user guides, email templates, videos, surveys, best practices, and more.
AI Companion comes free with paid services in Zoom accounts, although it is only available in select regions and industry verticals.
