Out Loud: Cisco Cloud Calling Updates in this Podcast!
Our monthly Cisco collaboration podcast brings you all the latest news about Cisco's communication and collaboration portfolio
Our regular Cisco podcast features expert guest Jonathan George, who is a Digital Collaboration Lead at Adoptt, who joins Patrick to review the latest updates from the world of Cisco collaboration.
Firstly Patrick and Jonathan discuss his recent move to a new Cisco partner, Adoptt, where Jonathan has taken the role of Digital Collaboration Lead.
The guys then move on to review some of Cisco’s recent messaging in terms of general trends. Jonathan explains how the portfolio now conforms to one of the three areas in terms of Teams, Meetings or Calling. Webex calling will soon be enabled globally becoming generally available in the EMEA on the 16th of May and in the rest of the world on the 30th.
The pod also covers Cisco’s provision in terms of PSTN connectivity. Cisco provide three different options for this which Jonathan talks Patrick through. Cisco enable third party connectivity as it does not have the inclination to provide carrier services itself.
Patrick and Jonathan also discuss Cisco’s hardware portfolio, focusing in on IP Phones and its range of headsets. The ability to provide hardware throughout every aspect of the technology stack allows Cisco to provide a selection of bundles catering for different solutions. As well as the inherent costs benefits to bundling, Jonathan also explains that there are various advantages in terms of solution management with a single vendor solution.
Finally the pod looks ahead to upcoming events. This week the UK’s biggest communication event, UC EXPO, is taking place in London and both Jonathan, and the team from UC Today, will be in attendance.
