Microsoft Launches Bing Chat Enterprise

Microsoft launches Bing Chat Enterprise with commercial data protection, and published on UC Today it adds GPT-4 visual search for businesses.

Microsoft Bing Chat Enterprise launch

Microsoft has launched Bing Chat Enterprise, bringing its generative AI chat tool to businesses.

Bing Chat was previously already available in Microsoft Edge for consumers. Microsoft focused heavily on security when launching the tool.

In a joint blog post, Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President & Consumer Chief Marketing Officer, and Jared Spataro, CVP Modern Work & Business Applications, said: “Bing Chat Enterprise gives your organization AI-powered chat for work with commercial data protection.

“With Bing Chat Enterprise, user and business data are protected and will not leak outside the organization.

“What goes in — and comes out — remains protected. Chat data is not saved, and Microsoft has no eyes-on access – which means no one can view your data. And, your data is not used to train the models.

“Whether researching industry insights, analyzing data, or looking for inspiration, Bing Chat Enterprise gives people access to better answers, greater efficiency and new ways to be creative.”

Microsoft revealed Bing Chat at the same time it revealed Microsoft 365 Copilot will cost $30 per user per month.

Bing Chat Enterprises is rolling out in preview for free today but will cost $5 per user per month when released as a standalone offering. It will also be included in the overarching Copilot subscription.

Bing Chat Image Search

Microsoft has introduced Visual Search in Chat, a new feature for Bing Chat that enables users to search the web using images.

Users can upload an image to Bing Chat, and the power of OpenAI's GPT-4 model allows them to obtain related content and information.

Bing can interpret the context of the image and provide answers to questions about it, whether users want to learn about the architecture of a building or need lunch ideas based on the contents of their fridge at home. Visual Search in Chat is currently available for desktop and the Bing mobile app, with plans to extend its availability to Bing Chat Enterprise in the future.
