Mitel has appointed Sophie Ames as its new EVP and head of human resources operations in more than 30 countries.
Her official title at Mitel will be Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and Chief People Officer (CPO), which also secures her a position in the company’s c-suite.
As such, Ames will also be responsible for creating and implementing new initiatives, attracting and securing talent, promoting positive employee experiences, and aligning individual working goals with the company’s overall strategy.

Ames brings with her 25 years of HR experience in the technology sector, as well as an “innovative and modern” approach to HR and operational leadership.
She has “extensive experience” in mergers and acquisitions and growing global cultures.
Ames most recently served as SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at ServiceMax where she launched a people strategy and brought HR and company objectives closer together.
Before that, she was the SVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at Veritas Technologies, where she led a transformation in talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement and development, DEI programs, and more.
She has also held senior leadership positions in HR, sales enablement, and field operations at Avaya, and HR positions at AMDOCS, Thomson Legal and Regulatory, and Berlitz International.
