Northern Irish telco provider Barclay Communications has launched a £250,000 grant scheme to local businesses that have been hit financially by the pandemic.
The ‘Barclay Backing Business Grant’ provides free telecoms solutions for 12 months to successful applicants with no purchase necessary nor any obligation to continue with a contract with the Belfast-based provider when the year-long period ends. The scheme includes fixed business landlines, broadband, and VoIP services.
Companies of all sizes – from startups to large enterprises – are encouraged to apply for the grant. Applicants will need to answer three questions as part of the process: how the pandemic has impacted their business, their communications spend in 2019/2020 during the pandemic, and how free telecoms services for a year would help their business.
Barclay counts Cisco, Gamma, Microsoft, and Vodafone among their partners. Last year was its most financially successful year to date, with revenue growing 33 percent year-on-year to £24m.
