Snom has unveiled a new DECT end device tailor-made to support frontline workers in demanding environments.
Snom, a leader in IP-based comms offerings, has introduced the new M56 mobile phone to complete its M5xx product series. With a robust and compact design and IP67 certification, the vendor says the DECT device is perfect for frontline workers seeking advanced durability and functionality.
Oliver Wittig, Senior Application Manager at Snom, commented:
With the M56 we’re offering a powerful and robust mobile phone that meets the requirements of demanding work environments and, at the same time, the highest level of user-friendliness. Like our other products in the M5xx series, the new M56 can be used flexibly and in particular enables operators of medium-sized warehouses, shops, and restaurants to benefit from cutting-edge telecommunications platforms and create a safe but flexible work environment."
More Specifics On The M56's Feature Set
Snom stresses that the M56 is specifically designed for challenging work environments. It features a robust, dust- and waterproof casing for reliable protection and a rubberised, antibacterial surface for a secure grip. Its sizeable 2.4-inch colour display provides clear visuals, and the large keypad aims to ensure ease of use, even when wearing work gloves.
Certified with an IP67 rating, the M56 is splash-proof and resistant to brief drops into water, dust, or mud, making it suitable for use in workshops, construction sites, or outdoor areas. Snom suggests another critical feature is its seamless integration into the Snom M500 ecosystem, allowing settings to be managed simply via an M500 base station with zero-touch provisioning. Wireless software updates will aspire to ensure the device is always up to date.
The M56 also aims to enhance workplace safety with advanced protective features, including an integrated alarm button, "man down" function, and built-in torch, making it particularly suitable for lone workers. With a lengthy 12-hour call time in HD audio quality and support for Bluetooth headphones, Snom adds that the M56 is a valuable addition to the M500 series. The handheld device also includes "Shared Call Emulation" (SCE) and six programmable functional keys.
