Tech Data is now offering security operations centre-as-a-service (SOCaaS) to managed service providers who specialise in SMBs and the mid-market.
The distributor – which recently rebranded as TD SYNNEX after its gargantuan merger with SYNNEX – claimed that the new solutions enables partners to offer managed security services to their customers without having to invest up-front or delaying until they have built their own capabilities.
The SOCaaS offering includes a comprehensive audit, preparation of an incident plan, round-the-clock monitoring, and regular reporting. It can also be white-labelled by the partners.
Interest in managed security services has increased due to the number of high-profile cyberattacks in recent years and is a cause of concern for businesses of all sizes, but particularly those that do not have their own security expertise. However, offering such a service can be a challenger for managed service providers and resellers due to the widespread shortage of security skills and expertise, the distributor claimed.
Partners who want to build a long-term security business can use the distributor’s Security Practice Builder to define their strategy, follow a curated development pathway, and thus become a trusted advisor on security for their customers. They can then either choose to develop their own offerings or use SOCaaS or one of the new security practice plans that the distie plans to launch in the coming months.
