Technology has the power to transform a huge range of different verticals and industries. In the retail space, we've seen how IoT and artificial intelligence can improve customer service. In the automotive industry, machine learning is paving the way for autonomous and driverless cars.
Thanks to innovators like ALE, there's also a place for technology in the healthcare environment - particularly when it comes to hospital and patient communications.
Now that around $12 billion is wasted each year on poor communication in healthcare environments, it's more important than ever for hospitals and other health providers to re-think their collaboration strategy. ALE's solutions for healthcare are designed to eliminate problems with nurse and doctor communications, reduce physician time wasted, and improve patient experience.
Through better connectivity and communication solutions, ALE is paving the way for a new generation of healthcare. We spoke to ALE's Solution marketing manager for healthcare, Patrick Hourtoulle, about the possibilities.
What Kind of Challenges do Healthcare Companies Face?
Today, ALE has a fantastic range of propositions for both the hospital and healthcare environment. According to Patrick, healthcare providers are facing a wide range of different challenges today, including the demand for greater mobility, and the push to empower digital transformation.
Healthcare businesses need to create more productive, predictive and personalised environments for their patient. The only way to reliably accomplish this is to begin by improving the communication and connectivity aspects of the organisation.
ALE is a champion in connectivity, and Patrick told me "It's our job right now to detect all the opportunities and challenges that healthcare companies face. We want to provide a solution that not only improves the patient experience but supports the professional too."
With new connectivity and communication solutions, companies will be able to reduce the amount of time they spend simply responding to problems. Brands will be able to offer continuous preventative care and make better decisions about patients based on the information that they collect.
What Kind of Innovations is ALE Offering for Healthcare?
According to Patrick, the hospital of the future will be "smarter" than ever.
"We can create intelligent solutions through connectivity for hospital professionals and patients alike"
"For instance, instead of having customers call a hospital or doctor's surgery, they can have an application on their phone. Through this app, they can manage their appointment, ask questions with support from a chatbot, and even get notifications when updates are made to their appointment."
With the same app, doctors could remotely monitor their patients, get answers to questions about their recovery or progress without bringing them into the practice, and even improve the frequency of communication between healthcare teams and their patients.
Because doctors won't have to spend as much time on the basic interactions that can be handled by a chatbot or AI, they'll be able to put their knowledge where it counts. In emergencies, the smart and connected hospital will even be able to help hospitals manage patient transformation, streamline the mobilization of teams, and establish temporary triage areas.
Are Healthcare Companies Relying More on Collaboration?
Patrick told me that healthcare companies, just like most organisations today, are beginning to invest more in collaboration strategies. "Internally and externally, they need to stay connected." It's not just the people in the team that need to collaborate either, but the processes and things too.
