Probably the most comprehensive tool ever developed for location-independent collaboration, Microsoft Teams has an incredible range of functionality, which is being added to all the time with a fortnightly release cycle. Remaining on top of everything it can do for your business may be impossible — but you don’t need to worry. Kurmi has you covered, with its ‘single pane of glass’ interface, providing visually engaging and accessible tools to accomplish everything you need for managing your digital workspace.

The Kurmi team recently shared their favourite tips for taming Teams in a client webinar, and demonstrated their bespoke admin interface — which saves their users time and trouble, and helps them get very best out of Microsoft Teams.

1. Secure your delegation policies

By designing and allocating dedicated roles for local admins, the main admin can lock down actions and features with high levels of granularity — which can be adapted in detail to fit your organisation. This embeds your UC+C specification in your information security and asset management policies, and gives master admin rights absolute control, feature by feature, before a user is even created. Users can then be isolated and assigned by role, site, or any other combination of attributes.

The visual overview makes it easy to maintain oversight of the intersecting user levels and assignments, to ensure your delegation can be carried out in an error-free and consistent way by non-expert staff, regardless of the complexity of your multi-vendor UC environment.  Even for direct routing, you can avoid spreadsheets and scripts and manage everything visually, in the Kurmi web portal.

2. Simplify your user management and onboarding

Onboarding a user is easy and straightforward in the Kurmi interface, and the packages tab makes it crystal clear which services are available for each person.

By creating advance templates this selection is automated in advance by role you can add new people with a few clicks, and they will be assigned exactly what they need. Managing voice policies within the same interface enables you to drill right down to ensure they have the correct inbound number according to the city in which they are located, and ensuring the unified management of Direct Routing numbers and teams policies in a unified way avoids unexpected costs or wasted time and resources.

3. Operational control at your fingertips

Automated ticket creation makes it easy to track and manage all actions, and the log creates a permanent record for archiving and compliance. While users see a slickly designed visual interface, behind the scenes, everything is supervised and secure, and this enables admins to managed complex transitions — such as migration from Skype for business — with confidence and ease.

If something goes wrong, or a situation changes, this level of control makes it easy to locate and revert any unwanted actions, with a simple click.
