More Details on How Zoom Rooms at AMC Will Work
Zoom Rooms at AMC intend to “give meeting(s) a special edge”.
A vital feature of the partnership is unification. Users can seamlessly merge attendees across diverse settings, from fully equipped theatres and conference rooms to personal workspaces, establishing a genuinely hybrid event ecosystem. Another is infrastructure maximisation. Users can leverage the theatre’s expansive screens, immersive audio systems, and ample seating capacity to curate memorable and engaging events.
A third feature is smoother collaboration. Users can encourage seamless coordination and engagement between onsite and remote coworkers with Zoom’s refined collaboration feature set. Lastly is the appeal of immersive experiences. Users can produce exciting audiovisual experiences with ultra-high-definition visuals, clear audio, and interactive content sharing.
Zoom and AMC also cite several compelling use cases underpinning the partnership. Users can enhance meeting attendance by incorporating a private screening or incentivisesing their employees or customers with an exclusive viewing of the latest blockbuster film. Additionally, they can add relevance to meetings by selecting an older title that ties into the meeting’s topic.
Zoom and AMC also underline that films offer an excellent opportunity to commemorate holidays and special occasions. Users can elevate the experience for guests by providing a VIP experience with an advanced screening of the latest release and classic cinema treats like popcorn and drinks or arranging for a private reception.
Zoom’s Past Month
Late in February, Zoom reported that its AI Companion productivity assistants had over 500,000 accounts enabled within five months of launching.
In its Q4 FY 24 earnings call, Zoom underlined the early successes of its AI investments as key drivers of its total revenue growth, rising 2.6 percent year over year for Q4. Zoom also highlighted that AI Companion has already generated 7.2 million meeting summaries and outlined how its AI-first capabilities powered an impressive quarter (and year) for its Contact Centre business.
Meanwhile, that news was swiftly followed up by the update that Zoom’s AI Companion productivity assistant now automatically detects supported languages when generating meeting summaries.
To support multilingual teams in collaborating and communicating more dynamically across the Zoom platform, the new language capabilities for AI Companion also extend to nine languages for Team Chat and 36 languages (in preview) for in-meeting features.
Lastly, earlier this month, Zoom named Cheree McAlpine its new chief legal officer as it continues to wade through the relatively new legal waters of artificial intelligence.
According to Bloomberg, McAlpine is taking over from Aparna Bawa, who was promoted to chief operating officer (COO) nearly four years ago and has been acting as the company’s interim legal chief ever since.
