As concerns around infection continue to grow, Modality Systems has issued an open letter to all NHS trusts around the country, informing them of the opportunity to access OneConsultation for free. According to Modality Systems, the company understands that the healthcare sector needs a solution for video conferencing that’s both compliant, and easy to use. Fortunately, OneConsultation requires absolutely no lengthy or complicated setup procedures, and no time-consuming installations.

With the video conferencing technology from Modality Systems, healthcare providers have the freedom to begin offering virtual consultations with patients within 72 hours of implementing their new system.

The OneConsultation offering integrates with any existing Microsoft technology that the NHS Trust might already have in place, including Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams. Additionally, the software is run through the cloud in the UK region with data centres from Microsoft Azure. With this service, patients can use their own devices to connect with care providers, with no need to download or install anything on their end.

The rise of the COVID-19 coronavirus in the UK has thrown the entire country into a new era of remote and digital communications. For the NHS, the rapid growth of the virus has been an enormous challenge, forcing doctors and care providers to rethink the way they connect with patients.

Darren McKenna, the Informatics Manager at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation, recently posted a “thank you” on Twitter to Modality Systems for helping them to roll out the new technology “pretty much overnight.”

A Quick and Convenient Solution for Virtual Consultations

The Informatics team at CNTWNHS were able to implement and scale their new remote working solution from Modality Systems almost immediately, allowing thousands of staff members to work from home. This means that the group can now access Microsoft Teams for safe and efficient conversations between employees. Additionally, online patient consultations are now available through Modality Systems’ OneConsultation tech.

McKenna noted that while the offices were quickly emptying “back at base,” the productivity of the team was able to accelerate and improve thanks to remote working enabled by Modality. The new system even includes a real-time absence reporting system, a brand-new RIO form, and support for all the technical needs of the CNTWNHS command system too.

This quick and convenient shift to digital consultations will be vital moving forward, particularly as the NHS reports that 38% of people have increased their use of NHS technology since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak.

A Fantastic Achievement

McKenna commented on the incredible rollout with this testimonial:

“OnlineConsultation is one of CNTW’s global digital exemplar projects, and we selected Modality’s One Consultation solution following a competitive process.  After a successful trial earlier this year we started a wider rollout, but over recent weeks we’ve had to massively accelerate this due to COVID-19.  Modality responded immediately to our call and have worked responsively with us to accelerate rollout.”

“As the solution is cloud based running on the Microsoft Azure platform we are able to scale instantly to all of our teams and wards so we can continue to provide services to our patients and enable our staff to work from anywhere providing expertise where and when it is needed across the huge area we cover”

This recent rollout is a testament to the efficiency and convenience of the Modality Systems solution.
