Today, Theta Lake has revealed over 100 innovations to its Risk and Compliance Suite. From tracking Zoom calls to preserving SMS and mobile chats, these updates offer companies new controls over their digital interactions.

According to Theta Lake’s annual report, over 85% of companies use at least four different communication tools, leading many to disable advanced functions to meet compliance mandates.

This often means limiting modern features like voice recognition in meetings, whiteboards, and chat options—a measure that, ironically, pushes employees to other unmonitored platforms. The resulting fines can be astronomical, more than 70 firms across the financial industry have been forced to pay $4bn collectively this year alone.

The company’s ambitious goal is to create a unified Digital Communications Governance and Archiving (DCGA) system that integrates seamlessly across popular collaboration tools and thus avoids siloed data and communications.

Three-Pronged Approach

Theta Lake’s three-pronged solution includes Unified Capture, Unified Search, and Proactive Compliance.

Each feature is designed to help companies adopt new communication tools faster, reduce potential compliance risks, and avoid disruptions. The platform’s ability to capture content across Zoom, RingCentral, LinkedIn, and beyond allows firms to retain comprehensive records, including all video, audio, SMS, and even dynamic content like whiteboards and AI-summarized meetings.

With innovations like multilingual code-switching for language-specific compliance and AI-driven false-positive reduction, Theta Lake is making regulatory review both smarter and more efficient. By recognizing key compliance risks like Material Non-Public Information or AI notetakers within messages, Theta Lake enables companies to act faster on red flags, often before issues arise.

“Our latest release further strengthens Theta Lake’s Digital Communications Governance and Archiving capabilities, making the Theta Lake suite by far the most powerful solution to help organizations ensure compliance without sacrificing productivity,” said Dan Nadir, Chief Product Officer, Theta Lake.

“It allows compliance-driven firms to maintain and streamline compliance across more text, audio and video modalities than any other solution, and has been validated by our customers and well-known industry leaders.”“The new workplace powered by Unified Communication and Collaboration tools is driving a need for Digital Communications Governance and Archiving (DCGA) that can cover all of the channels and features of UCC in one place,” said Zeus Kerravala, founder and Principal Analyst, ZK Research.

“The ability for Theta Lake to provide a truly unified DCGA suite that allows customers to deploy compliance quickly and incrementally with intelligent alignment to use cases, gives customers a great path to mitigate risks and safeguard themselves from legal and compliance issues before they arise while getting more value out of UCC and DCGA.”

Key Differentiator in an AI World

As companies continue to adopt new communication tools and features, solving compliance issues across data pools will likely become a key differentiation factor for businesses looking to deploy AI tools and features within their business.

Getting compliance wrong is a high-stakes game that many businesses fall foul of currently. With a projected increase of IT investment in AI tools at 16-45% (according to the UC Today AI Adoption Report) it has never been more important for businesses to ensure their compliance solutions are ready. Theta Lake recently reported that ‘security anxiety’ is present in almost every business when it comes to GenAI being used in UC.
