Global intelligent communication providers, Ribbon Communications, and leading enterprise communication and collaboration brand Yealink are teaming up. The two companies recently announced their partnership, which will focus on bringing faster adoptions of the Microsoft Teams experience to enterprises.

Ribbon’s software-based Session Border Controller, and SBC Software edition lite have been approved as a secondary registrar for the Yealink T58a, T56A, and CP960 conference phones. The Ribbon SBCs give Yealink Microsoft Teams SIP phone systems the option to make calls without connecting to the Microsoft Phone System. What’s more, Microsoft Teams SIP phones from Yealink deliver the Teams client experience so that you can enjoy a familiar real-time communication environment. Whether you’re connected to the Microsoft phone system or not, you can access Ribbon’s rich calling features.

Delivering Microsoft Teams Experiences

According to Alvin Liao, the VP of Product for Yealink, Microsoft Teams is currently one of the fastest-growing collaboration tools in the world. Yealink and Ribbon are now working together to help entire organisations access the full benefits of Teams, even as groups migrate into the environment at different rates.

Yealink and Ribbon believe that the entire employee base doesn’t need to be fully integrated into Teams before the company purchases the latest models of Microsoft Teams SIP phones. Ribbon and Yealink’s fully-featured Teams solutions can be deployed before the completion of a Teams migration. The extensive line-up uses Ribbon’s Microsoft certified SBCs to route calls without a Microsoft Phone System. This way, everyone can access the Teams collaboration solution.

The Yealink and Ribbon collaboration allow customers to access the latest in SIP-based phone technology as they migrate into a Microsoft Teams environment.

According to the Chief Marketing Officer at Ribbon, Patrick Joggerst, the company has a long-standing partnership with Yealink, which puts the two businesses in a great market-leading position, capable of delivering a unique enterprise customer solution. As well as offering Teams collaboration solutions to an entire organisation both prior to and during the migration process, the phones also make and receive calls through Ribbon SBCs.

The state-of-the-art solution designed by Ribbon and Yealink means that companies can easily switch to Ribbon SBC tech at a moment’s notice for call routing. With one tap of a feature, it’s possible to access Ribbon technology for survivability purposes. Integrating the Ribbon SBC technology into Yealink’s Microsoft phones will mean that companies can maintain consistent lines of communication, even when interruptions in WAN connectivity occur.
