SMART Technologies has launched a groundbreaking interactive display, the OS-free SMART Board GX Zero.
This minimalist, operating system (OS)-free solution caters to customers looking to enhance their content and presentations with interactive features in a straightforward, easily accessible manner. The OS-free GX Zero prioritises sustainability and affordability, providing ease of setup and user convenience.
Fraser Smith, VP of Product at SMART Technologies, said:
The SMART Board GX Zero Series allows our customers a simple solution to seamlessly make any content interactive, with nothing more to set up than plugging in a USB cable. This OS-free solution empowers education and business leaders to create more engaging, connected spaces that drive meaningful engagement and productivity.”
For users seeking the advantages of an interactive display without requiring embedded software, the SMART Board GX Zero offers a simple solution. By plugging their laptop in using the included USB-C cable, users can revolutionise any content into an interactive experience.
SMART states that the ability to seamlessly pick up a pen, write, and save annotations in original file formats such as PDFs and Microsoft Office files is exclusive to its interactive displays like the GX Zero. This advanced solution empowers individuals to share ideas, collaborate effectively, and bolster their skill sets.
SMART says that, unlike competing brands, its interactive displays enable multiple users and various tools to be utilised simultaneously, facilitating compelling collaboration. SMART highlights that with 52 percent lower energy consumption compared to similar products in its category, the SMART Board GX Zero ensures that this level of interactivity remains both affordable upfront and in the long term.
The GX Zero’s Feature Set In Detail
The SMART Board GX Zero Series boasts a range of distinctive features supported by SMART Technologies’ stringent quality standards. These include the unique SMART Ink software, which enables users to write directly into programmes and files without experiencing screen freezing or cumbersome overlays.
Additionally, it offers simultaneous multi-user interaction, allowing multiple individuals to write, move, and erase content simultaneously. Lastly, the GX Zero Series provides extensive connectivity options, with 40 touch points on Windows, 20 on Mac, and ten on ChromeOS, alongside multiple USB-C ports for enhanced versatility.
This minimalist display is foundational for users wanting to tailor their interactive display setup. The SMART Board GX Zero Series offers buyers the flexibility to enhance its basic functionality by adding a SMART OPS PC or AMG1 Android appliance, delivering the capabilities of Windows or Android-based computing directly to the display. This ensures the GX Zero remains adaptable to evolving requirements and relevant over time, regardless of the environment.
