We Decide is a collaborative decision-making app that’s purpose-built for Microsoft Teams. It helps you create dedicated cards for every decision you make. Your colleagues can add their thoughts, opinions, and feedback in a structured manner until the decision is either approved or rejected.
We Decide is designed by the German digital technology company, Aonic. Aonic is based out of Darmstadt, Hessen, in Germany, and offers a range of technology solutions and services to organisations worldwide. Aonic has a strong Microsoft 365 capability and provides solutions for SharePoint, among other Microsoft products. Its flagship solution is Workplace 365, comprising applications, tools, and services for bespoke Microsoft implementations.
We Decide is the company’s turnkey app for Microsoft Teams that does not require an independent platform. Importantly, it was launched in 2020 as part of the German government’s #WeVsVirus hackathon for simplifying work during COVID-19. Today, the app is available as both free forever and paid versions, helping teams of every size. Let us now review We Decide for Microsoft Teams in detail.
Inside We Decide for Microsoft Teams
We Decide is a dedicated app designed solely for the Microsoft Teams ecosystem. You won’t have to download any other product or set up an integration. You might, however, have to opt for a paid license for We Decide, depending on the features you are looking for. The app comes in three versions – free forever with basic functionalities, $9.99 for independent professionals, and custom priced for enterprises.
Visit Microsoft AppSource to download We Decide and install it for your Teams interface. Once you have logged in, you will be able to access the following key features:
- We Decide as a channel tab – You can add We Decide as a tab on a channel of your choice. All channel members can view the active decision cards on We Decide, share their comments, send approvals, or request a meeting. The We Decide channel tab ensures that only the relevant stakeholders have visibility into the decision-making process.
- The We Decide bot – Teams users can also access We Decide via a bot. Teams users can view and vote when an active decision is created on a We Decide board. As the decision passes through multiple steps and approval workflows, the bot alerts the decision creator and stakeholders.
- Reminder notifications – Stakeholders will be reminded to vote on topics that are relevant to them. This makes sure that there are minimal delays in getting a decision approved and executed. Reminder notifications are sent in two ways – through the We Decide bot and as push notifications from the Teams app (desktop and mobile).
- Decision boards – Decision boards are the heart of the We Decide value proposition. Once you have installed the app, you will be prompted to permit it, and once this is done, you will be directed to the decision board. The board lists all the decisions currently in process in the form of cards that contain a decision summary, implications, attachments, tags, and due dates. You can create decision cards, delete them, or save them for later.
- Archiving decisions – Decisions where stakeholders have already agreed can be archived for future reference. This is an essential feature as it allows you to keep track of ideas that did not pan out so you can learn from past decisions and mistakes.
- GDPR compliance – It is important to note that the We Decide app fully complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Given that Aonic is a German company, GDPR compliance is a must-have and allows you to conduct decision-making processes involving EU stakeholders confidently.
- Custom workflows – The enterprise version of We Decide allows you to design workflows that determine who gets notifications and whose approval is needed.
- App white labelling – The enterprise version of We Decide also supports white labelling. Stakeholders will receive an app experience branded with your organisation’s logo, brand colours, etc.
