What has been your business/work highlight of 2024 so far?

At GoTo we launched a raft of AI innovation and a whole new offering in our Contact Centre proposition. We’ve really strengthened our ability to win in the market. It’s been a big project internally.

Who is your business hero and why?

I like listening to Howard Schultz, former CEO of Starbucks. I’ve done a few case studies over the years into Starbucks and I admire his ambition and leadership style.

What’s the biggest business mistake you’ve made and what did you learn from it?

There’s been plenty of product launches that haven’t been successful over the years. Many of them cast too wide a net for a target market. Narrow your focus, create a clear reason to win, and be persistent and consistent in your efforts.

What’s the most inspirational book you’ve ever read and why?

Rebel Talent, Why it Pays to Break the Rules in Work and Life by Francesca Gino. We must always challenge the status quo and I think this book does a great job of explaining why.

What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role in 2024?

Not losing sight of the basics amidst an increasing workload. Getting the simple things right is a big part of success.

What technology will have the greatest impact on your business this year and why?

Artificial intelligence is transforming how we build our products. There’s a new way of doing things, and we think we can embrace it in a way that becomes a competitive advantage.
