Following DTEN’s recent award win for ‘Rising Star Organisation’ in the 2023 UC Awards, I caught up with the company’s General Manager of EMEA, Doug Remington, to talk about the waves the San Jose-based technology innovator is making across the pond, new hires, channel investment, and business growth.

“Other than being extremely honored to win this UC award, we were especially excited about the win this year, since it comes at a time where we really are putting great efforts in innovations, growth, and new partnerships,” Remington highlights.

“We have definitely entered a new stage in the DTEN growth,” he shares.

So, what’s new and exciting with DTEN?

Here are all the key highlights.

New Range of Certified Devices

DTEN sports a new range of Microsoft Teams-certified devices (which are also Zoom-certified).

“The devices in the D7X range, which were launched earlier this year, are designed for Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms and also support BYOD,” Remington says.

Previously being Zoom-focused, the Teams certification unlocks new opportunities for DTEN.

“These devices paved the way to a whole new range of customers (and partners) who can now benefit from the DTEN experience,” he shares.

DTEN expects to bring out more certified devices during H2 and many other later down the line.

Growing the Global Team

Over the past 3 months, DTEN has made a significant investment in senior positions with exciting new hires to target expansion on a global scale.

Rory Martin joined the team as General Manager of Asia Pacific & Japan, bringing a wealth of experience from big brands such as Lenovo, Microsoft, and Deloitte. Alongside Rory, DTEN has recently brought on Makuni Kohno as Country Manager of Japan, bringing no less than 28 years of experience working with Microsoft.

“These new additions to the DTEN team boost our knowledge and expertise, especially in the Microsoft Teams ecosystem, and are perfectly aligned with the rapid market growth of our new D7X solutions,” Remington notes.

In the US, David Silberstein was promoted to lead the Channel Sales Team for the Americas region, following 4 successful years at DTEN collaborating with top resellers, and over 25 years in the industry as a whole.

“Dave’s experience and relationships in this new role provide an excellent opportunity to execute the next stage of the DTEN growth plan.”

Investment in the Channel and Redington Partnership

DTEN continues to invest in its channel partners, recognizing their significance to the company’s success and reach.

“Our channel partners are at the heart of the way DTEN goes to market,” Remington explains.

“We continuously assess opportunities to enhance existing partnerships and embark on new ones that help us serve additional markets, as well as incremental opportunities via new resellers.”

DTEN has recently partnered with Redington as a new distributor in the Middle East and Africa regions. This will allow them to leverage the latter’s wealth of experience and extensive presence across these regions, where local expertise is vital for an optimal customer and partner experience.

“We’re thrilled to grow and expand our service to new territories and develop new partnerships across this wide geography,” Remington shares.

As channel partners, DTEN’s solutions provide Redington’s customers with valuable, complementary expertise across IT, UC, and AV.
