Zoom has officially opened its ‘Experience Center’ in central London, which it believes demonstrates its commitment to the UK market.
The popular video conferencing and collaboration platform describes the Experience Center as an ‘innovative’ and ‘inspirational’ space that showcases its products, solutions, and values to customers.
The new center follows the Zoom Engagement Hub, which opened in August last year to provide its employees with a collaborative space to share their strategies and ideas and bring its workplace strategy to life.
Frederik Maris, Head of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at Zoom, also expressed the organization’s commitment to the UK: “The UK continues to be Zoom’s door to EMEA, and is one of our largest key markets outside the US.”
“Our latest investment in the region underlines Zoom’s long-term commitment to the UK, where we have already seen the number of full-time employees nearly double in the last three years.
“The new Zoom Experience Center is a testament to our cutting-edge technology, and the creativity that Zoom can enable, and raises the bar for our international footprint outside of the United States.”
Zoom Experience Center
The Zoom Experience Center is over 18,000 square feet and conveniently positioned right next door to its Engagement Hub.
According to Zoom, the main feature of the center is currently the ‘Lens Wall’, a 125-foot fabric wall that provides visitors with immersive experiences.
The XR showcase includes the world’s first curved LED screen with multi-touch interactivity that offers a customizable “dynamic and engaging” 360-degree experience.
The ‘Boardroom of the Future’ is another highlight, with a floor-to-ceiling 8K LED screen and the latest audio systems, which is intended to convey the power of Zoom’s meeting technology.
Zoom also chose to bring its sustainability values to the foreground within its design strategy for the Experience Center, which it says incorporated a ‘holistic’ approach to sustainability.
As a result of its efforts, the center has been awarded a Gold LEED certification, which utilizes an internationally recognized sustainability rating system for buildings.
Dave Grant, Head of Customer Experience Organization EMEA at Zoom, took the opportunity to reflect on the company’s work within the UK, which began back in 2013:
“From facilitating hybrid work to enabling virtual classrooms and connecting loved ones across the country, Zoom has seamlessly integrated into the fabric of everyday life in the UK.
“Over the years, Zoom’s robust platform has adapted to the unique needs of the UK market, continuously innovating to provide secure, reliable, and user-friendly solutions.
“All of this has been achieved thanks to our incredible customers and partners whom we are proud to serve — from our early days in the UK to today, where we find ourselves in these incredible facilities.”
Zoom customers in the UK are made up of both individual users and large enterprises, including HSBC, WWF, and public and health sector customers like Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, through to its partnership with the Oracle Red Bull Racing Team.
Zoom opened its first UK office in 2018, also in Holborn, driven by the company’s rapid growth and plans to further increase its headcount.
