ZoomInfo, a leader in go-to-market data, software, and intelligence, recently announced the decision to purchase Conversation Intelligence innovator, Chorus.ai. The upcoming acquisition will deliver a new level of actionable insights into the world-class ZoomInfo intelligence layer, unlocking new workflows and engagement informed by the voice of the customer.
The purchase will expand ZoomInfo’s total market to $70 billion, and experts believe that growth will begin immediately, with positive adjusted operating income within the next year. Chorus.ai has built a reputation in the analytics environment for using AI and machine learning to capture and analyse customer calls, emails, and meetings, unearthing new insights into the client.
According to Founder and CEO of ZoomInfo, ZoomInfo is the only company capable of marrying world-class go-to-market applications with a leading data layer. The purchase of Chorus will expand the company’s mission to provide a more modern go-to-market platform combining comprehensive data management and intelligence.
Unlocking New Opportunities with Intelligence
Boasting the largest Conversation Intelligence patent collection in the industry, Chorus will advance every aspect of the ZoomInfo vision by providing a new category of workflows, insights, and engagement opportunities. The combination of the two brands will provide customers with the tools they need to make intelligent decisions throughout the sales funnel. The partnership combines historic top-of-the-funnel strength with insights collected from the middle of the funnel.
The combined technology is a potential game changer for the way that B2B companies deliver solutions into the market. Companies will be able to identify and access recommendations for key contacts in the buying decision journey when planning a strategy for sales. Chrous.ai will recognise meeting invitees and listen for sentiment, while ZoomInfo enriches the profile of each attendee in a meeting with in-depth company intelligence.
Chorus.ai is currently a market-leader in conversation intelligence, with some of the most innovative technology in the industry, including 14 granted patents. The extensive development of advanced algorithms and technology means Chorus can transcribe and understand conversations up to 3 times faster than alternatives. Chorus has also received various accolades for its technology and software.
An Exciting Opportunity for Both Brands
According to CEO of Chorus.ai, Jim Benton, the company is thrilled to have the opportunity to join forces with ZoomInfo and bring more intelligence to every revenue team. Benton will be joining ZoomInfo as a Senior Vice President of Emerging products following the acquisition. According to him, ZoomInfo has a vision of developing a powerful go-to-market platform which paves the way for better revenue generation, and Chorus will play a vital role in delivering on that idea.
The agreement involves a purchase price of $575 million for Chorus in an all-cash transaction, including a cash tax benefit to the asset acquisition. A number of C-suite executives from the Chorus company will be transitioning over to ZoomInfo when the transaction is complete to help drive the future plan and growth opportunities of the new company.
