The popular unified communications software as a service (UCaaS) company BroadSoft recently announced that they would begin to implement a migration plan that would help Avaya customers to make the transition from on-premises services, to cloud UC services. This new migration plan allows those customers to simply migrate their business cloud services with BroadSoft Business, which should give them the functionality that they need to continue with business operations as usual – despite the uncertainty surrounding Avaya’s future.
BroadSoft are currently trying to make the most of their competitor’s position in the market, as Avaya struggle to keep customers happy in the wake of filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy at the beginning of 2017. BroadSoft will be able to offer customers who want to make the move a fully integrated portfolio of cloud PBX, ready for enterprise development, alongside unified communication, team collaboration applications, and contact centre solutions.
What to Expect from the Migration Plan
Avaya customers who choose to take advantage of the BroadSoft migration plan will be able to use hybrid solutions that do more than simply leverage existing PBX and premises-based solutions, and have the flexibility to implement new cloud services such as team productivity solutions, mobile UC, enterprise messaging, and BroadSoft contact centre solutions. All of these opportunities can be built to scale, capable of supporting even the largest multi-site and multi-national operations around.
According to the chief digital and marketing officer for BroadSoft, Taher Behbehani, businesses have been relying for years on expensive premises-based systems, simply because they seemed like they were the only choice. However, he commented that today “premises is dead”, and organisations now have the power to switch to the cloud, and thereby improve their competitive nature. Since BroadSoft is widely regarded to be the leader of the global UC market, with a huge portfolio, massive scalability options, and a trusted track record, it makes sense that more customers would consider BroadSoft if they felt Avaya were no longer enough for their needs.
What Can Customers Get from BroadSoft?
BroadSoft aren’t the first competitor that have attempted to make the best out of Avaya’s bankruptcy filing this year, but they certainly offer a unique range of benefits to the customers that might be interested in switching their providers. For instance, BroadSoft Business recently surpassed a milestone of 15 million UC lines globally deployed – which is a number three times greater than Cisco’s (their next leading competitor). In addition to SIP trunking, Cloud PBX, and more, BroadSoft has offered migrating customers a range of services, including:
- Team Collaboration in “Team One” – a cloud-based service that places all the files, messages, and notes a business user might need into a single workspace, alongside click-to-call, video conferencing, screen sharing and more.
- Contact centre services with CC-One – a data-driven contact centre solution hosted on the cloud, which uses predictive analytics to reduce operating costs and enhance business outcomes.
- UCaaS with UC-One – a Unified Communications as a Service suite with integrated HD video and audio, file sharing, screen sharing, messaging, and conferencing.
