Apalo is looking to take advantage of congested domestic networks as it kicks off its partner recruitment drive.
According to Apalo CEO, Philippe Matos, the pandemic has highlighted the inconsistencies in Britains fixed connectivity service. He said that the mobile connectivity at the spine of Apalo’s fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) solution is a better option in terms of reliability, signal strength and quality.
The FMC technology allows partners to create their own MVNO for their customers via EEs cellular network. In turn, employees can access the network on laptops, through the UCaaS or CCaaS platform Apalo provides and calls can be taken on any device without the need for a phone application.
“We spoke with a lot of our partners recently to understand their go-to-market, especially since COVID,” said Matos.
“I think we know remote working has become key, but most of our partners find it’s better to work directly from your mobile than using your internet at home because not everyone has the capability or the service to have a decent conversation”
“We all have to do homeschooling and so on which can impact on connectivity, and that’s typical at the moment, but to have a good experience you need to have good connectivity. When you start using your FMC, it’s a different experience because you rely on the mobile network.”
Partner Ambitions
Apalo has recently announced ambitions to recruit 50 to 60 new partners over the next 12 months by bringing the FMC to the UCaaS market.

Matos also predicted more businesses moving to a mobile-first strategy as the COVID-19 pandemic is negotiated and employees go back to the office.
He said: “Our new partner target is a good number but a number we can achieve and we are on track to achieve it.
“I think bringing new technology will attract a lot more partners because we are moving away from the standard UCaaS model, towards a more mobile solution.
“Our ambition is to be a different player, we want to focus on mobile-first because we believe all businesses will slowly switch to improve their strategy. That’s what differentiates us, most players tend to focus on the traditional UCaaS but nobody offers this FMC model, it’s as simple as that.”
